Other fascinations of the day

So you can probably tell already there is no rhyme or reason to this blog. I never said there would be. Anyway, the other fascinations of the day you may (or may not) see pop up here include:
-World music (like weird unknown stuff)
-Languages and linguistics
-Microelectronics (no rhyme or reason I said)
-Management
-Web development
-Current news (I am interested in this in cycles)
-Conlangs, and a lot of constructed stuff (you'll see)
-World cultures
-Other stuff that pops up in my mind

First fascination of the day: Video game reviews

So the first thing I will be doing in this blog from time to time (while I am not bored with it) is review video games. I am a gamer, but like everything else I do, I'm not hardcore about it. I play games that I enjoy while I enjoy them, and then stop when they get boring. I am not a completionist, I don't horde achievments, I don't necessarily enjoy kicking ass more than having my ass kicked. I just like certain games at certain times and then I play them.

I have a pretty good laptop on which I play PC games, which naturally means I don't play any state of the art PC games that require monstrous video cards. I also have an xbox 360, a Playstation 2, and a Nintendo Wii. My favorite genre is role playing games, I am particularly a fan of the now uncool Japanese RPG's. There's just something about the chess-like combat of a typical JRPG's turn based combat that I just get. I also like simulation games, platformers, and the occasional puzzle game and first person shooter. I don't really like sports sims or racing games, and my track record on fighting games is iffy. I don't shy away from cheating in a game, but I don't do it regularly, and I do it only if there's a purpose to doing it (game is more fun that way, wanna try something out, stuck for too long, etc.)

So in short one thing you can expect to see from time to time around here is reviews of video games. Not like professional reviews as you would see on Gamespot, but horribly amateurish ramblings that read like a 12 year old wrote them. Or maybe you won't, depends on how I feel like.

First post

Hello world! This is my first post. This is my first serious attempt at starting a blog. I have never felt the need to start one before, for some reason a blog sounds very self-centered, sooo look at me. But hey, I am starting to feel maybe I need to be a little self-centered and self-serving. Also I need a release valve. I need an anonymous venue in which to vent. Not vent as in a tirade (though that's not highly unlikely) but just vent all the bullshit "information" I keep gathering from God knows where. In real life my biggest problem is I get bored easily, I am not a very "thematic" person. I switch topics, and start talking about something else if you give me half a chance. It makes me look crazy, but I can't help it. This blog is my place to switch topics suddenly and just mix it up. I mean really, I don't care about most of the people who will read this (if any), and they (if any) would never really care about me. So that's fantastic.
